Por su parte, la actividad volcánica da lugar a la aparición de edificios volcánicos o volcanes, producto de la acumulación de materiales procedentes del interior de la tierra en un punto. En este caso, los efectos producidos por los mismos se suelen restringir a una zona muy pequeña alrededor del volcán.
