    FACTORES DETERMINANTES QUE IMPACTARON EN LA PANDEMIA COVID-19 EN LA POBLACIÓN UCSFE SESORI, SAN MIGUEL MARZO 2020 A MARZO 2021

    This study identified the determinants of health, including social, behavioral, and clinical factors, in the population affected by COVID-19 in the municipality of Sesori, San Miguel, El Salvador, during the period March 2020–2021. Through a cross-sectional descriptive design and review of 95 clinical records, vulnerability patterns associated with educational level, informal occupation, health habits, and the presence of chronic diseases were identified.The study population consisted of women and men, with a predominance of women (56.8%). The majority of the participants (54.7%) resided in the urban area of the municipality, had a basic level of education, and their most frequent occupations were domestic work, informal commerce, and agriculture. More than 70% did not engage in physical exercise, 60% did not maintain frequent handwashing, and 58% did not wear masks properly. A high prevalence of non-communicable diseases was identified: 41% had hypertension, 25.3% had diabetes mellitus, and 15.8% had chronic kidney disease. All cases were managed on an outpatient basis, with no hospitalizations or deaths. The results allow us to understand the relevance of sociodemographic profile, health habits, lifestyles, and clinical status, which were the predominant factors in patients with suspected cases of COVID-19. This highlights the need to strengthen healthcare and health education for disease prevention and health education. En el presente estudio se identificaron los factores determinantes de la salud entre ellos sociales, conductuales y clínicos de la población afectada por COVID-19 en el municipio de Sesori, San Miguel, El Salvador, durante el periodo marzo 2020–2021. A través de un diseño descriptivo transversal y revisión de 95 expedientes clínicos, se identificaron patrones de vulnerabilidad asociados al nivel educativo, ocupación informal, hábitos de salud y presencia de enfermedades crónicas.La población estuvo integrada por mujeres y hombres con predominio de sexo femenino (56.8 %) la mayoría de la población investigada procedían del área urbana del municipio (54.7 %), poseían un nivel educativo básico y las ocupaciones más frecuentes correspondía a oficios domésticos, actividades del comercio informal y actividades agrícolas. Mas del 70 % no practicaba ejercicio físico, el 60 % no mantenía lavado de manos constante y el 58 % no usaba mascarilla de forma adecuada. Se identifico una elevada prevalencia de enfermedades no transmisible el 41 % tenía hipertensión arterial, el 25.3 % diabetes mellitus y el 15.8 % enfermedad renal crónica. Todos los casos fueron manejados de forma ambulatoria, sin hospitalizaciones ni fallecimientos. Los resultados permiten comprender la relevancia del perfil sociodemográfico, hábitos de salud, estilos de vida y su estado clínico que fuero los factores predominantes en pacientes con caso sospecho por COVID-19 lo cual resalta el fortalecimiento de atención y educación en salud para la prevención de enfermedades y la educación sanitaria
