(Universidad de El Salvador, Facultad de Ciencias y Humanidades, 2024-11-25) Alas Alvarenga, Juan Carlos; Torres, Alexander Cristian; aa19026@ues.edu.sv
This document talks about the important role of translation in today’s connected world, where communicating across different languages and cultures is more important than ever. It starts by explaining the importance of translation in modern times, focusing on how it helps with globalization, business, and understanding between different cultures. Translation makes it possible for people, companies, and governments to communicate clearly, sharing ideas, information, and services in different languages. Next, the document looks at the translation process, giving a detailed explanation of the steps needed to translate a language correctly. It includes a mind map to show the process visually, explaining how professionals translate, from understanding the context to making sure cultural differences are taken into account. This part shows that translation is more than just changing words—it requires a deep understanding of both languages and cultures. The document also includes practical examples of Spanish/English translations in different areas. These examples include medical translations, such as explaining the digestive system, technical guides, like how engines work, and official documents, like birth certificates, diplomas, marriage and divorce papers, and city hall records. These examples show how important translation is in both specialized jobs and everyday situations.
