(Universidad de El Salvador. Facultad de Ciencias y Humanidades, 2025) Custodio Palma, Rosa Guadalupe; Marín Pérez, Cristian Levi; Méndez Orellana, Zulma Abigail; Torres Meléndez, Cristian Alexander; Carranza Campos, Miguel Ángel; cp11037@ues.edu.sv; mp18032@ues.edu.sv; mo18015@ues.edu.sv
This portfolio explores the translation process and its significance in contemporary society. First of all, it presents some relevant arguments about its importance at present day. Besides that, it discusses the key steps involved in translation and describes various techniques used to ensure linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance in translated texts. In addition, it emphasizes the importance of applying appropriate techniques based on the type of text. Furthermore, there is a compilation of real life examples of translation (educational resources, images, text documents, legal documents and academic documents). In the conclusion section, it emphasizes that translation is a complex process requiring both a systematic approach and the correct use of translation techniques to achieve accurate and culturally relevant results. Finally, a list of recommendations is offered for future students aiming to improve their translation skills, focusing on what to do and what to avoid. It also highlights the importance of understanding both the linguistic and cultural context of the source text.
