    Fundamentos De La Traducción
(Universidad de El Salvador, Facultad de Ciencias y Humanidades., 2025-10-01) Escobar Ascencio, Jacqueline Elizabeth; Torres Meléndez, Cristian Alexander; ea17005@ues.edu.sv
This project explores translation as a complex process of cultural mediation that extends beyond the mere transfer of linguistic units between languages. Drawing on key contributions from translation studies, the study highlights the role of translation in facilitating intercultural communication, supporting the circulation of knowledge, and preserving intellectual and cultural production in a globalized context. The portfolio aims to examine both the theoretical foundations and the practical dimensions of translation through a systematic approach. It begins by outlining core concepts that define the translation process and then presents a structured, step-by-step methodology developed by the working group. The practical component includes the translation of official documents and selected visual materials from books and manuals, illustrating the application of different translation methods. The portfolio concludes with a critical reflection on translation practices, emphasizing their relevance, effectiveness, and contribution to the field of translation studies.
