During the preparation of this project, different translation methods were addressed, as well as online translation tools and free-use software. Throughout the process, the methods were used to translate official documents such as birth certificates and academic transcripts. Likewise, during the practice, knowledge of image editing was used where, for example, for a cover of a National Geographic magazine, the image was cleaned with the words of the source language to pass it to the language that was wanted to be translated as the Target Language, using editing programs like Adobe Photoshop or online editing sites. However, the use of technologies is only a basis for the translator to develop in. During the development of the project, certain translation techniques were adopted where the final process, which is the translation, is obtained. In this sense, each translator reflects in his work the method implemented in his project and his way of working is reflected in the translation. This work is about the translation techniques applied to different projects of different areas and topics. Moreover, through the use of the translation process, which is set by each translator according to the necessities the translator has, could be done all the tasks that will be seen throughout the work. It is essential to establish a translation process since this process is the procedure of taking a text in one determined language and replicating it in the target language. For this, the text has to be analyzed carefully, and deep research should be done about the unknown words because it has to be adapted to the target public. Then the first draft has to be created to start displaying the ideas, in between this process it is essential to take some breaks, otherwise, it would be a dull process. After writing the first draft, rereading the text helps to find better ways to express the first idea created in the draft and any typos. Repeat this process as many times as necessary. Finally, the last draft has to be created but also It must be checked for the last time and it is done. A compilation of all the translations that were done is in the document. This can be useful and taken as a reference for future translations due to the complexity of some of them. Translating is a wonderful practice where you can learn many techniques and cultural information about several countries. In the end, translation helps you to find out more about the world and how people use the language in different ways.

Translation has always been one of the most important fields in the world because it is the engine that impulses the development of any other discipline as it has been part of history. It is known that without communication among countries, innovations and social development would be limited. To be able to translate, it is necessary to have a translation process and strong knowledge of all the techniques required to work in this domain as not every technique can be applied to every translation, it depends on each scenario or situation. It is important to find a translation process that best suits the translator and it can be a combination of various techniques or methodological strategies which may vary from one translation to other translation. The translation process and techniques applied in this paper are the results of a learning-by-doing process acquired by the translators during their path in this specialization course

The present work is a compilation of documents, each one with its own peculiarity and in some cases its own complexity, where each of the skills acquired during the course has been put to the task of testing, applying to the contents addressed in each week of classes, during the period of time that the specialization in translation fundaments was developed. Furthermore, these brief definitions and the theoretical review in this exemplary, are the evidence of the variety of topics that were received during the course, which served significantly for the development of each of the documents, which in this specimen we will contemplate; both the original versions and the translations made by each student who was in this course were resolved without much difficulty, thanks to the application of the different techniques received in class, and the advice of the teacher of the course as an integral part of the learning process. In addition, all the resources and techniques used were a strategic part of an orderly and punctual work; the inclusion of steps in the translation process, and the application of technological tools during the translation process of each document presented, show the level of learning and skill acquired both in the use of technological tools and in the application of some translation techniques acquired during the study process. Some documents present in this report are official documents and others of real-world importance, which have a very high demand in the real translation field.

It is safe to say that translation is a necessity in today’s globalized society; the advances in technology have allowed human communication and interactions to cross societal barriers in every aspect, including the language barrier. As translators, it is a must to study and train ourselves with the right knowledge in this area; the fundamentals of translation are the key knowledge for any aspiring professional in this line of business, they help us to go above and beyond to understand what it means to translate, the various types of translation techniques, as well the different processes it revolves around make us navigate the basics and increased our skill set by studying, practicing, and applying new dexterity in the practice of translation. We depict the results of this report by presenting a summary of the broad number of studied topics. Beginning by establishing the importance of the said topics regarding the basics of translation, then proceeding with the portrayal of our translation process through a mind map, as well as sharing a definition of translation based on the personal experience of the translators. In addition to the previously mentioned content, there is also a diverse selection of the legal and educational translations.

The translation process goes beyond the exchange of ideas from the source language to the target language. It requires a deep analysis of what is to be conveyed, the type of technique it is convenient to use, the purpose, and the audience it is addressed to. Each document has its own relevance, so each one must be treated professionally and with due respect toward its final recipient. Therefore, in this document we present a compilation of important translated documents, from English to Spanish and vice-versa, the ones we worked with throughout the specialization course, including, translated images, a birth, marriage, and divorce certificate, a university transcript, a diploma, and a protocol of agreement. We chose the right process of translation with seven important steps: reading the text, analysis, and research, translation, taking a break, comparing the two versions, editing and proofreading, and final review. In addition, the new era requires the use of different software such as Pixlr, Photopea, Cat tools that help to speed up long translation files and facilitates image editing. Despite being a complex job, it is gratifying to see the result of hours of work, and the ability we have now to transmit into our mother tongue those ideas that were originally written in a foreign language. A professional translator must be able to make the reader perceive the text as the original, not as a text that has undergone a process of transformation, a good translator is one who remains invisible to the reader's eyes.

This document shows some of the work that was done during the specialization course on the basics of translation, including the digestive system, birth certificates, and marriage certificates, among others. Each work was developed within the four modules of the course, taking into account the different tools and processes that were presented by the professor in charge of teaching the classes. First, to carry out each of the works presented in this document, it was necessary to understand what translation is and what it consists of, so it has been essential to include its definition and know about it. The translation is the action of understanding the meaning of content in a language other than one's own, called source text, to create a text with an equivalent in another language, called a target text or translated text. (Concepto definicion, 2021).On the other hand, in the following works, different translation techniques were used so that each of the translated texts could be well understood by the reader and feel like a natural translation. It is worth mentioning that during the translation was created a set of steps was to help us in the process to able to perform excellent work. Also, to work on the images and obtain a good result, it was necessary to use different editing tools to create a document similar to the original. Working on each of the documents was not easy as it required much time and effort to complete them and achieve the proposed goal with great satisfaction

Is it necessary to stick to a process in order to develop a flawless translation? Throughout civilization history there has been a necessity of communicating ideas among different languages. At the beginning, the people manage to understand each other, but later they notice that is not enough to communicate, it is a must that people understand the whole message, and that it would be semantically and grammatically correct. As students of the major modern languages but having the honor to deeply study about translation we certainly believe that translation makes our current world an educated world. Nonetheless, to have an efficient translation practice, there should always exist a path, a structure to follow, and it belongs to every translator. The main techniques that are always applied in the texts presented are reading, research of unknown vocabulary, first time translation, opinion of different colleagues, transcription and proofreading. All of them help step by step to get a comprehensible, natural, and impeccable text. By checking this report, you will notice how our process is applied in every translation included in the portfolio, and how every step aims to prepare the best version to the target language of any text.

This study work has collected data on the importance of translation in this globalized world that carries throughout history the complexity of translation and how creative this process can be using the right tools and the right techniques. In addition, this project fulfilled all the requirements of the stipulated time of intense translation work, the use of translation techniques, tools used to translate any type of document. During this project, it was noticed that there were no rules that could have led to a monotonous translation. It may be a misunderstanding to say that there are no rules. In fact, there is a process to follow. For example, it was more obvious to see how each translator managed and carried out the process that worked best for them. During each process, there was efficiency in translating some important legal documents despite the complexity of some of them. Moreover, the translation achievements were precisely as expected according to the requested guidelines. This work also leads to an analysis of the translation process carried out by the translators and the efficiency with which the process was carried out and followed without discarding the idea that there are no rules. The results provide ideas on how to perform translations because this work will serve as an entry point or reference for future students who will be attracted to learn more about translation and put their knowledge into practice when translating.

Literary devices are resources that are important in texts such as articles, stories, research papers, newspaper articles, etc. According to Quizlet’s definition (2017), a literary device is a set of literary resources that help to keep one single thematic in a text. These resources are applied by any writer. The use of these devices might vary from one language to another, but in the case of translators’ work, it is essential to keep the main idea of the source text. For that reason, these professionals have to know what literary figures stand for and their use. Besides, it is necessary to question some aspects of translating literary devices. How are these literary resources translated into the target language? Did these devices maintain or lose the main idea of the original text? To what extend the translation of these resources keeps the same meaning of the original text into the target language? All those questions emerge from the fact that every language has a different vision of the world and translators have to deal with a variety of situations that include the treatment of literary devices in the translation practice. The translation is a process whose goal is to produce a text in a target language with the same idea of the source text. The process to apply depends on the field. For instance, fields like Law might need to translate literally. Nonetheless, in the literary field, devices play an important role to comprehend the ideas. This is due to the message the author wants to transmit. During the translation process, the translator has to do a lot of research to avoid mistakes. The investigation includes the consult of other authors and translators; they also need to interview the authors; sometimes they need to check grammar, literary books, and other resources. Thus, the translation process leads to the production of an accurate text in 13 the target language, to succeed in this task, the translator’s role is crucial to preserve the literary resources, especially in texts that include literary devices that contain the main ideas or meanings.
