    RESUMEN: El ser humano a lo largo de la historia ha tenido la necesidad de contar con infraestructura que le permita desarrollar diferentes tipos de actividades, ante tal situación los Ingenieros han tenido la obligación de desarrollar estructuras que satisfagan dichas necesidades, por ejemplo cuando se requieren grandes áreas libres de trabajo la solución han sido las naves industriales, las cuales se han construido con diferentes arreglos estructurales, durante muchos años se realizaron utilizando materiales como la madera pero gracias al desarrollo del acero que se llevó a cabo en la revolución industrial se implementa el uso de dicho material en todas las áreas de la construcción, sin quedarse atrás las naves industriales, que gracias a las ventajas del acero se han construido estructuras de este tipo cada vez más grandes.
