    RESUMEN: Desde la existencia del hombre los asentamientos humanos, ha generado residuos sólidos como líquidos, a lo largo de toda la historia de la humanidad; la disposición final de los desechos sólidos y líquidos, así como el aprovisionamiento de agua, para el consumo tienen una relación ancestral que data desde la misma creación del hombre, es por eso que entre los siglos XVIII y XIX, surge en Inglaterra la Ingeniería Sanitaria a causa de la revolución industrial. ABSTRACT: Since the existence of man, human settlements have generated solid and liquid waste throughout the history of mankind; the final disposal of solid and liquid waste, as well as the supply of water, for consumption have an ancestral relationship that dates back to the very creation of man, that is why between the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, Sanitary Engineering emerged in England because of the industrial revolution
