dc.description.abstractThe following investigation is directed to describe the effects students are able to show while they are exposed to different techniques, when recorded music and/or live instruments are played during a class. As a result of only some parts of the environment were managed in order to trigger different effects, the investigation was considereda quasi-experimental study. It was expected a change in participation and motivation of the teen students while they learneda second language. This investigation takes into accountthe positive effects of music, as in the “Suzuki Method”,that helped many generations in Japan after World War II, theory explained during the life of Mr. Shinichi Suzuki, due to this theory,the general objective of this study is to analyze several teaching techniques with the use of musical instruments in order to explore which better enhances the students’ motivation and participation.Positive changes were possible when using live musical instruments, a different and positive behavior was also feasible when merely using recorded music, certainly music helped to have better classes as a tool,according to the observed and to the data results, it is the teacher who propitiates a better environment in the classroom, being music an outstanding help, whether it was played with live instruments or recorded music.es
