Abstract
El presente trabajo analiza la importancia jurídica del Registro del Estado Familiar en El Salvador, especialmente en lo relacionado con la inscripción de los matrimonios y las marginaciones registrales. Se estudia la evolución histórica del sistema registral, así como los fundamentos teóricos y legales que regulan el registro del matrimonio dentro del ordenamiento jurídico salvadoreño. Asimismo, se examina el procedimiento para la inscripción del matrimonio, la función de los registradores y el papel de las marginaciones como mecanismo para actualizar la información registral cuando se producen cambios en la situación jurídica de los cónyuges. De esta manera, se destaca la relevancia del Registro del Estado Familiar como instrumento que garantiza la seguridad jurídica, la publicidad de los actos civiles y la correcta determinación del estado civil de las personas.
This research analyzes the legal importance of the Family Status Registry in El Salvador, focusing on the registration of marriages and marginal annotations. The study examines the historical development, theoretical foundations, and legal regulations governing marriage registration within the Salvadoran legal system. It also explains the procedure for registering marriages, the role of registry officials, and the function of marginal annotations in updating registry records when legal changes occur. The research highlights the importance of the Family Status Registry as a mechanism that ensures legal certainty, public registration of civil acts, and the proper determination of civil status.
