Item Prevalencia de tuberculosis pulmonar y extrapulmonar en pacientes del Hospital Nacional Rosales en los años 2014 y 2015(2017-09-01) Alvarenga Guzmán, Ana Elizabeth; Cruz Amaya, Marilyn ClaribelLa tuberculosis es una enfermedad infecto-contagiosa causada por las especies del complejo de Mycobacterium esencialmente por Mycobacterium tuberculosis o bacilo de Koch, de evolución crónica y caracterizada por la formación de granulomas. Su localización preferente es el pulmón, aunque puede afectar a cualquier órgano. Esta enfermedad se puede prevenir y curar si es detectada desde su inicio. Prácticamente es diagnosticada por métodos que dependerán del sitio anatómico en que se sospeche la enfermedad. Los procedimientos de diagnóstico autorizados por el Ministerio de Salud de El Salvador (MINSAL) son los siguientes: baciloscopías, cultivos, biopsias, tuberculina o PPD, Adenosina Deaminasa (ADA), y Gene Xpert MTB/RIF. Se presentan los resultados obtenidos en la investigación con el fin de dar a conocer datos actualizados sobre la prevalencia de tuberculosis pulmonar y extrapulmonar en pacientes del Hospital Nacional Rosales en los años 2014 y 2015, elaborando un planteamiento del problema donde se expuso la falta de información actualizada sobre la prevalencia de tuberculosis, y nuestra interrogante que consiste en saber en cuál de los dos años fue más frecuente la enfermedad y cuál es la forma que se presenta con mayor prevalencia.
