Item The Importance Of Teaching Students About Artificial Intelligence And Its Real-World Applications(2024-12-12) Vargas De Gomez, Sandra Noemi; Carranza Campos, Miguel Angel; Najarro de Alvarado, Sey Danisia;Abstract This final document investigates the increasing importance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education, with a specific focus on its applications in foreign language teaching. The authors emphasize that AI has the potential to revolutionize educational environments by providing personalized learning experiences, improving student engagement, and automating administrative tasks. AI technologies, such as learning management systems (LMS), chatbots, and virtual classrooms, enable more dynamic and adaptable teaching methods that cater to individual student needs. By integrating AI into curricula, educators can prepare students for a technology-driven future. The research conducted is based on a Specialization Course on the Administration of Virtual Environments for Foreign Language Teaching and Learning. This course demonstrates how AI tools can be applied in virtual learning settings to improve teaching methodologies and learning outcomes. AI’s ability to tailor educational content, provide real-time feedback, and automate repetitive tasks is highlighted as crucial in enhancing both teaching and learning processes. However, the ethical implications of AI, particularly regarding data privacy and the potential displacement of educators, are recognized as challenges that must be addressed in future educational strategies. Through three key modules, the research demonstrates how educators can effectively implement AI in teaching foreign languages. The first module focused on setting up online environments using tools like Google Classroom and LMSs to facilitate synchronous and asynchronous learning. The second module explores the use of educational applications, including tools like Kahoot, Nearpod, and Ed Puzzle, to make language learning interactive and engaging. The third module emphasized creating didactic materials using multimedia tools such as podcasts and video content, to support diverse learning needs in virtual classrooms.Item Nostalgia tour operator(Universidad de El Salvador. We will achieve the objectives by offering the richness of the different tourist routes that El Salvador has. This report has been structured considering the Tourism Law, ISO standards, and the CORSATUR regulations for the proper functioning of the tourism company and developing the company within the legal framework and the protection of the country's resources. In a common context marked by the incorrect interchangeability of terms like ‘translation’ and ‘interpretation, (despite they having distinct meanings) there is a common misconception that translations can be done spontaneously by multilingual speakers without following any kind of translation process, thus translating automatically with little or no preparation.Incorporating evidence of a personal Translation Process, this study aims to demonstrate that the Translation Process is actually a crucial part of the actual translation that should not be skipped by any new or experienced translators, and that it actually impacts the quality of work produced at the time whenever a process is not developed. This paper argues for the need of every translator to develop and tailor their own Translation Process to ensure the quality of their work, the fidelity to the source language and also to make sure the translation is effective and meaningful for the target audience.Item The use of online and computer-assisted translation tools combined with traditional techniques in the translation process.(Universidad de El Salvador. Translators have the advantage of using both the traditional translation process and the well-known techniques such as transposition, adaptation, modulation, equivalence, adaptation, combined with the online tools to deliver better results. Thus, the quality and the accuracy of translation projects has improved significantly. This report aims to explore the different options available for translators and how to make the process more efficient so that it can be achieved without great effort, different from the way it was done in the past. Additionally, when translators combine online tools with traditional techniques, the amount of workload decreases substantially which provides translators the chance to work on larger projects. In this changing and demanding world, computer-assisted translation facilitates and assists human translators providing a range of tools for submitting, editing, and storing content to be translated into a certain language but humans play an important role and they can never be replaced by any CAT tool.Item The importance of collaborative learning in online education(Universidad de El salvador. Collaborative learning has changed the learning environment in many positive ways. Teamwork and collaboration are essential in Today´s School. The team used all the online tools in a collaborative process to achieve the objectives and applications used during the three modules developed in the specialization “Administration of Virtual Environments for Foreign Language Teaching and Learning”. An important aspect is that by working collaboratively, students have the opportunity to develop their own ideas, sharing their opinions and creating their own learning. During this specialization the team practiced with all the online tools and applications that were learned during every session besides the different activities that allowed to work collaboratively and, as a benefit, it allowed to better understand the use of each online tool. By practicing activities collaboratively students will be able to aim critical thinking and it will allow them to build their own criteria about different topics. Collaborative work brings many benefits for students and as teachers we must continue working hard in order to apply the best techniques that may benefit students' learning process. Based on the experience obtained during the three modules and after practicing and learning about each online tool, as well as the research done about the Importance of Collaborative Learning in Online Education, the team can assure that implementing collaborative activities and assignments in Online Education generate more student’s participation, motivation, and self-learning. This contributes especially for beginner translators’ translation; the purpose of this investigation is mostly to reduce time’s handing costumer translations in order to maximize your experience. for example when we translate a birth certificate in the past with no internet connection this time to traduce this document can be handing to the client in 3 or 4 nowadays using cat Tools is the fast way to get Satisfactory results of translated texts and image editing of a document can be attained through the study of accurate translation techniques and the practice of Cat tools This report presents how the six-month course of Specialization in Translation Fundamentals was developed; through this course, students were able to understand and practice the fundamentals of translation techniques and the usage of Cat Tools for translation. As conclusion, we realized that using those tools, students learned how to translate documents such as diplomas, birth certificates, and records, to provide the translation of the source language to the target language. This report encompasses the translation works completed throughout the semester using translation techniques and Computer-Assisted Translation tools. The first module dealt with the basics of online education and its application in English language teaching, especially the virtual teaching approach, such as the use of Learning Management System (LMS) to create a virtual classroom and synchronic or asynchronous learning activities and the use of platforms such as Classroom, Teams or Meet. The second module dealt with the theory and use of technological tools for learning a foreign language virtually such as Edpuzzle, Flipgrid, Flippity, Liveworksheet, Nearpod, Padlet, Kahoot, Classroomscreen, Powtoon. Virtual education has opened a new way to study at the University of El Salvador and different studies made around the world have established that this new digital world has a strong impact on students' learning. This work deals with the first specialization course entitle: The Administration of Virtual Environments for the Teaching and Learning of Foreign Languages. This was developed by the Department of Foreign Languages at the University of El Salvador. The course is a final requirement to obtain the academic degree. It was divided into three modules, and the whole process lasted six months. The most useful technological tools, the most used platforms are presented throughout the report. Finally, the advantages and disadvantages that educational technology present for students at the Department of Foreign Languages at UES are discussed.
