Common applications used in the Teaching-Learning Process of Foreign Languages

This report aims to highlight the influence of virtual education on the development and improvement of students´ language learning process to identify challenges and issues faced in it. Virtual education has opened a new way to study at the University of El Salvador and different studies made around the world have established that this new digital world has a strong impact on students' learning. This work deals with the first specialization course entitle: The Administration of Virtual Environments for the Teaching and Learning of Foreign Languages. This was developed by the Department of Foreign Languages at the University of El Salvador. The course is a final requirement to obtain the academic degree. It was divided into three modules, and the whole process lasted six months. The most useful technological tools, the most used platforms are presented throughout the report. Finally, the advantages and disadvantages that educational technology present for students at the Department of Foreign Languages at UES are discussed. Contributions and benefits reflected in the translation of beginner translators through the proper use of translation tools (Cat Tools)

We found out that this specialization in Translation helps translators to apply different ways to produce a new text translation using tools like Cat Tools. This contributes especially for beginner translators’ translation; the purpose of this investigation is mostly to reduce time’s handing costumer translations in order to maximize your experience. for example when we translate a birth certificate in the past with no internet connection this time to traduce this document can be handing to the client in 3 or 4 nowadays using cat Tools is the fast way to get Satisfactory results of translated texts and image editing of a document can be attained through the study of accurate translation techniques and the practice of Cat tools This report presents how the six-month course of Specialization in Translation Fundamentals was developed; through this course, students were able to understand and practice the fundamentals of translation techniques and the usage of Cat Tools for translation. As conclusion, we realized that using those tools, students learned how to translate documents such as diplomas, birth certificates, and records, to provide the translation of the source language to the target language. This report encompasses the translation works completed throughout the semester using translation techniques and Computer-Assisted Translation tools. Cat Tools play a significant role in modern translations as they facilitate time management while translating, image editing, or group translating.
Creation of teaching materials that incorporate AI to facilitate learning

La Inteligencia Artificial está cambiando el sistema educativo, ya que utiliza algoritmos para realizar tareas que habitualmente desempeñan los humanos, como problemas analíticos y tareas administrativas. La IA en la educación impulsa la enseñanza y el aprendizaje porque proporciona tecnologías de tutoría inteligente, entornos de aprendizaje adaptables y herramientas de aprendizaje en línea. La inclusión de la IA en los entornos educativos permite a los educadores elaborar materiales de aprendizaje personalizados, hacer un seguimiento del rendimiento de los alumnos y adaptar el contenido del curso en tiempo real para apoyar las necesidades de aprendizaje de los estudiantes. Las herramientas basadas en la IA, como los chatbots, los sistemas automatizados de puntuación y los juegos de aprendizaje, aumentan el compromiso de los alumnos y reducen el tiempo y el esfuerzo de los profesores. El avance de las tecnologías de la IA desde los sistemas basados en reglas hasta las tecnologías de aprendizaje avanzadas ha mejorado la capacidad de la IA para ofrecer experiencias educativas personalizadas, lo que supone importantes ventajas para alumnos y educadores. Además, la IA facilita el acceso a los alumnos con necesidades especiales y ayuda a superar las barreras geográficas facilitando el acceso global a los recursos de aprendizaje en línea. Este informe examina el papel de la IA en la educación, considerando su capacidad para transformar la creación y la entrega de materiales de aprendizaje, al tiempo que aumenta la eficiencia y la eficacia educativas. En este informe también se incluyen los resultados del curso de especialización sobre gestión de entornos virtuales para la enseñanza y el aprendizaje de lenguas extranjeras. El objetivo principal de este curso era brindar a los educadores las habilidades y la información necesarias para planificar, desarrollar y supervisar eficazmente los entornos de aprendizaje en línea, mejorando la forma en que se imparten la enseñanza de los idiomas. Los participantes desarrollaron sus habilidades en el uso de herramientas digitales, fomentando la participación de los estudiantes, y construyendo aulas virtuales inclusivas y dinámicas a través de aplicaciones prácticas. En este informe se resumen las lecciones más importantes aprendidas, las dificultades encontradas y las sugerencias para futuros profesores que deseen mejorar su enseñanza de lenguas extranjeras en línea. Different types of translation processes to translate legal documents to improve the reliability of the translation

This paper presents the correct usage of an organized and established Translation Process as a pivotal role in producing a high quality translation. In a common context marked by the incorrect interchangeability of terms like ‘translation’ and ‘interpretation, (despite they having distinct meanings) there is a common misconception that translations can be done spontaneously by multilingual speakers without following any kind of translation process, thus translating automatically with little or no preparation.Incorporating evidence of a personal Translation Process, this study aims to demonstrate that the Translation Process is actually a crucial part of the actual translation that should not be skipped by any new or experienced translators, and that it actually impacts the quality of work produced at the time whenever a process is not developed. This paper argues for the need of every translator to develop and tailor their own Translation Process to ensure the quality of their work, the fidelity to the source language and also to make sure the translation is effective and meaningful for the target audience.
Educational Platforms that Generate an Interactive Environment and Significant Learning in the Development of the Virtual Foreign Language Classes.

In recent years, the use of technology has become essential for daily life. However, how to use technological tools for academic purposes seems not to be enough in the classroom yet. Therefore, the Specialization Course in the Administration of Virtual Environments for Foreign Language Teaching and Learning becomes meaningful for all those future professionals who are immersed in education. For that reason, the main purpose of this written paper is to present some educational platforms that generate an interactive environment and significant learning in the development of virtual foreign language classes. In addition, this academic report documents the valuable insights and experiences gained by aspiring EFL educators who participated in the Specialization Course in the Administration of Virtual Environments. This report presents significant information regarding educational platforms that can become useful and helpful for online environments. Moreover, in this work, the reader will find a list and brief description of some educational platforms that can help to improve non face-to-face educational processes for both teachers and students. To sum up, individuals interested in education should read this paper to gain a better understanding of the importance of educational platforms in online foreign language classes since this will help generate more interactive and meaningful learning experiences.

Through a comprehensive review, it identifies key techniques such as machine translation and natural language processing, along with their applications in various domains, including literature, legal documents, and technical manuals. Additionally, the study investigates the integration of computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools, and collaborative translation environments, highlighting their impact on translation efficiency and accuracy. This report also presents some of the translation practices completed during this translation course. Furthermore, it examines the challenges and opportunities associated with these tools and techniques, including issues of quality assurance, cultural nuances, and ethical considerations. By analyzing current practices and industry trends, this report provides valuable insights for us as future translators seeking to navigate the evolving landscape of translation techniques and technological tools.

In this work, the most important aspects seen in the activities carried out during the three modules of the course of administration of visual environments for the teaching and learning of foreign languages have been compiled. The first module dealt with the basics of online education and its application in English language teaching, especially the virtual teaching approach, such as the use of Learning Management System (LMS) to create a virtual classroom and synchronic or asynchronous learning activities and the use of platforms such as Classroom, Teams or Meet. The second module dealt with the theory and use of technological tools for learning a foreign language virtually such as Edpuzzle, Flipgrid, Flippity, Liveworksheet, Nearpod, Padlet, Kahoot, Classroomscreen, Powtoon. Finally, in the last module, design of didactic material for the virtual environment, web tools were used for the design of educational material, such as podcasts, online presentations, interactive images, videos, as well as the creation of websites linked in Classroom.

The following work is about the creation of the tourism company “Nostalgia” that is committed to unique, and inclusive tourist experiences through presenting a service for people with reduced mobility, and tourism in virtual reality, taking advantage of technology to remain in the mind of the tourist, in addition to traditional tourism. We will achieve the objectives by offering the richness of the different tourist routes that El Salvador has. This report has been structured considering the Tourism Law, ISO standards, and the CORSATUR regulations for the proper functioning of the tourism company and developing the company within the legal framework and the protection of the country's resources. The topic has been presented as part of the activities of the Specialization Course in Tourism, visualizing the opportunity of entrepreneurship with fellow students, and achieving a better standard of living through innovative entrepreneurship.

This portfolio was developed to present the importance of the translation process in the present day because, even thought the technology tools have facilitated the translation of different languages, it is crucial to take into consideration that translation is a complex process due to the principal task of translation being to translate the source language into the target language keeping the original message of the text, and that is why there are some steps that need to be followed in order to obtain and accurate and high-quality translation. Moreover, this portfolio presents the concept of translation and the variety of techniques that a professional translator follows to accomplish that goal. Therefore, this document is divided into 7 main sections, which present the most relevant information related to the translation process. Based on that, the structure of this portfolio is the following: introduction, importance of translation, translation process, translations, conclusion, recommendations, references, and annexes.

This project focuses on the processes, tools and best practices to achieve a high translation quality. Throughout this final project, various legal documents have been included; documents such as birth certificates, school reports and others which were translated from Spanish to English and vice versa. Each of the tasks that were executed highlight the importance of accuracy, cultural adaptation, and maintaining the original tone in translations. Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools, like translation memory systems, were used to ensure consistency and efficiency throughout the process. Additionally, resources like WordReference and Google Translate complemented the work by providing quick translations and linguistic insights. This portfolio reflects the application of different translation theories and techniques, along with the use of advanced technologies to guarantee high-quality translations. Key steps such as the initial text analysis; drafting, reviewing, and final proofreading were followed to deliver accurate and culturally appropriate products. Finally, recommendations are provided, offering useful strategies for improving translation skills.

"The Coconut House" is a unique lodging experience located on El Cuco Beach, a jewel of the Salvadoran coast. This project was born to provide visitors with a perfect combination of comfort, affordable luxury, and direct contact with nature. Guests are welcomed in an environment decorated in a coastal style, where every detail, from the air-conditioned rooms to the pool area and hammocks on the patio, has been thought out to encourage relaxation and enjoyment. Its comprehensive focus is on customer satisfaction. It offers not only accommodation but also a personalized transportation service to and from the airport, facilitating access to local attractions. In addition, guests can enjoy a private chef service that creates personalized menus with fresh, local ingredients, allowing them to savor the culinary richness of El Salvador without leaving the accommodation. In addition, it is proud to promote sustainable tourism, integrating ecological practices such as the use of solar panels and promoting the efficient use of resources, to minimize its environmental impact. La traducción es una herramienta poderosa que ha permitido a lo largo de la historia acercar a pueblos y culturas, gracias a la transmisión e intercambio de ideas y saberes. Ha permitido además a las personas acceder a una mayor amplia gama de conocimientos y a una mayor autoconciencia al permitir con su aplicación que descubrimientos, artículos y libros escritos en un determinado idioma pueda ser trascrito en otros idiomas y de esta manera ser más accesibles para las personas que no se pueden permitir el viajar o aprender el idioma de la fuente original. En este documento hablamos de hecho sobre la importancia que juega la traducción en el mundo globalizado de hoy en día. Además de ello, se habla tanto de los breves inicios de la traducción, así como de las técnicas que se pueden emplear para su uso, ya que como se verá más adelante, traducir es más que solo transcribir una palabra de un idioma a otro. Por último, también se mostrarán los diferentes trabajos traducidos durante el desarrollo de este curso, los cuales comprenden temáticas diversas entre sí, desde imágenes educativas (esquemas del sistema digestivo, partes de una planta, comics), así como traducción de manuales de usuarios y artículos de índole social, para terminar con traducción de certificados de nacimiento, matrimonio y auténticas de documentos legales. Throughout history, translation have been a powerful tool that has brought peoples and cultures closer together, thanks to the transmission and exchange of ideas and knowledge. It has also allowed people to access a wider range of knowledge and greater self-awareness by allowing discoveries, articles and books written in one language to be transcribed into other languages and thus be more accessible to people who cannot afford to travel or learn the language of the original source. This document in fact discusses the importance of translation in today's globalized world. In addition, it discusses both the brief beginnings of translation as well as the techniques that can be employed for its use, since as will be seen below, translating is more than just transcribing a word from one language to another. Finally, we will also show the different works translated during the development of this course, which include diverse topics, from educational images (diagrams of the digestive system, parts of a plant, comics), as well as translation of user manuals and articles of a social nature, to finish with translation of birth certificates, marriage certificates and authentication of legal documents.
The importance of collaborative learning in online education

The purpose of this report is aimed to know what the Importance of Collaborative Learning in Online Education is. Collaborative learning has changed the learning environment in many positive ways. Teamwork and collaboration are essential in Today´s School. The team used all the online tools in a collaborative process to achieve the objectives and applications used during the three modules developed in the specialization “Administration of Virtual Environments for Foreign Language Teaching and Learning”. An important aspect is that by working collaboratively, students have the opportunity to develop their own ideas, sharing their opinions and creating their own learning. During this specialization the team practiced with all the online tools and applications that were learned during every session besides the different activities that allowed to work collaboratively and, as a benefit, it allowed to better understand the use of each online tool. By practicing activities collaboratively students will be able to aim critical thinking and it will allow them to build their own criteria about different topics. Collaborative work brings many benefits for students and as teachers we must continue working hard in order to apply the best techniques that may benefit students' learning process. Based on the experience obtained during the three modules and after practicing and learning about each online tool, as well as the research done about the Importance of Collaborative Learning in Online Education, the team can assure that implementing collaborative activities and assignments in Online Education generate more student’s participation, motivation, and self-learning. Collaborative work brings many benefits to students and as future teachers we feel more than motivated to apply this important technique on each of our future classes.

Abstract This final document investigates the increasing importance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education, with a specific focus on its applications in foreign language teaching. The authors emphasize that AI has the potential to revolutionize educational environments by providing personalized learning experiences, improving student engagement, and automating administrative tasks. AI technologies, such as learning management systems (LMS), chatbots, and virtual classrooms, enable more dynamic and adaptable teaching methods that cater to individual student needs. By integrating AI into curricula, educators can prepare students for a technology-driven future. The research conducted is based on a Specialization Course on the Administration of Virtual Environments for Foreign Language Teaching and Learning. This course demonstrates how AI tools can be applied in virtual learning settings to improve teaching methodologies and learning outcomes. AI’s ability to tailor educational content, provide real-time feedback, and automate repetitive tasks is highlighted as crucial in enhancing both teaching and learning processes. However, the ethical implications of AI, particularly regarding data privacy and the potential displacement of educators, are recognized as challenges that must be addressed in future educational strategies. Through three key modules, the research demonstrates how educators can effectively implement AI in teaching foreign languages. The first module focused on setting up online environments using tools like Google Classroom and LMSs to facilitate synchronous and asynchronous learning. The second module explores the use of educational applications, including tools like Kahoot, Nearpod, and Ed Puzzle, to make language learning interactive and engaging. The third module emphasized creating didactic materials using multimedia tools such as podcasts and video content, to support diverse learning needs in virtual classrooms.

Nowadays, the use of online and computer-assisted translation tools plays an important role in the way translators are being assisted in the translation process. Translators have the advantage of using both the traditional translation process and the well-known techniques such as transposition, adaptation, modulation, equivalence, adaptation, combined with the online tools to deliver better results. Thus, the quality and the accuracy of translation projects has improved significantly. This report aims to explore the different options available for translators and how to make the process more efficient so that it can be achieved without great effort, different from the way it was done in the past. Additionally, when translators combine online tools with traditional techniques, the amount of workload decreases substantially which provides translators the chance to work on larger projects. In this changing and demanding world, computer-assisted translation facilitates and assists human translators providing a range of tools for submitting, editing, and storing content to be translated into a certain language but humans play an important role and they can never be replaced by any CAT tool.
