Abstract
This portfolio reflects the learning journey of a language student specializing in translation fundamentals, focusing on the importance, techniques, processes, and tools used in modern translation. Presented as a simulated translation agency project, it includes a diverse collection of translations between English and Spanish, such as certificates, reports, comics, user manuals, and legal documents—demonstrating the ubiquity of translation in various contexts of everyday life. Special attention is given to the growing role of technology in the translation process, from computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools to artificial intelligence, highlighting their advantages and limitations. The portfolio also discusses strategies for maintaining translation quality while integrating these technologies. Finally, it concludes with reflections, insights, and practical recommendations for aspiring translators, encouraging them to embrace continuous learning and adapt to emerging trends. This work aims to serve as both a showcase of acquired skills and a useful resource for those entering the dynamic and ever-evolving field of language study and translation.
